Performance Development Review (PDR)

Introduction

The continued success of policing in Scotland relies on the best possible staff performance. The new Performance and Development Review (PDR) has been designed as a national process, to improve performance and service delivery by focusing on both the achievement of objectives (what you do) as well as an assessment of the Behaviours required to carry out your role (how you do it).

  • PDR applies to Police Officers and Police Staff
  • PDR is a joint review of your past performance and future development
  • It assesses achievement of your objectives (what you do) and the behaviours you display (how you do it).
  • It records your development needs and any future career plans
  • The PDR record is held electronically and is 'live' to allow for update and review throughout the year
  • Evidence of performance is gathered throughout the year and is used to support performance rating.
